Training & Development

Develop people with purpose.

Training should respond to a real need – whether that is building workplace capability, developing an employee, strengthening the skills of an SDF or addressing an identified compliance priority.

SDF Corp helps businesses and individuals identify development needs, determine the right intervention and connect learning with practical outcomes.

From workplace training and accredited learning solutions to SDF mentoring and coaching, our approach is focused on development that can be applied in the real world.

How We Help

Training & Development for Employers

Help organisations identify skills and development needs and determine appropriate training interventions.

SDF Mentoring & Coaching

Practical mentoring for aspiring, newly appointed and experienced Skills Development Facilitators.

Training & Development for Employers

The right training starts with understanding what needs to change or improve.

We help employers identify development priorities and determine appropriate learning interventions based on their workforce, business requirements and wider compliance strategy.

Our support may include:

  • Identifying workplace skills and development needs
  • Linking training to Workplace Skills Plans and identified skills gaps
  • Aligning training with Employment Equity priorities and affirmative action measures
  • Considering B-BBEE Skills Development requirements where relevant
  • Identifying suitable accredited or non-accredited training interventions
  • Sourcing and engaging appropriate training providers
  • Supporting learner and training administration
  • Monitoring training implementation and completion
  • Maintaining appropriate training records and evidence

We don’t promote training simply for the sake of training. The objective is to identify the right intervention, for the right people, for the right reason.

SDF Mentoring & Coaching

Learn how to manage Skills Development in the real world.

Being appointed as a Skills Development Facilitator involves much more than completing a WSP/ATR submission.

Our SDF mentoring and coaching provides practical guidance to help Skills Development Facilitators understand SETA processes, workplace skills planning, training implementation, compliance requirements and the wider role Skills Development plays within the business.

Sessions are adapted according to the individual’s experience, responsibilities and development needs.

Mentoring may include:

  • Understanding the role and responsibilities of the SDF
  • Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports
  • SETA processes and administration
  • Mandatory and Discretionary Grants
  • Training Needs Analysis and skills planning
  • Learner programmes and workplace implementation
  • Training records, monitoring and evidence
  • Skills Development Committees
  • Links between Skills Development, Employment Equity and B-BBEE
  • Practical problem-solving and ongoing SDF support

The objective is to develop capable, confident SDFs who understand not only what needs to be done, but why it matters and how to manage it effectively.
