SDF Corp South Africa works with employers to make Skills Development, Employment Equity, B-BBEE, Learning Systems and Training & Development practical, manageable and relevant to their business.

We understand that compliance does not happen in isolation. Decisions about people, training, workforce planning and transformation often affect more than one requirement. Our role is to help employers understand what needs to be done, why it matters and how to implement it properly.

Sometimes that means helping with one specific requirement. Sometimes it means working alongside a business throughout the year. Either way, our approach remains the same: understand the business first, then find the practical way forward.

Our Story

SDF Corp was built on years of hands-on experience working with South African employers and navigating the practical realities of workplace compliance.

Today, SDF Corp South Africa is led by Director Sharné van der Merwe, working alongside Amanda van der Merwe, whose extensive industry experience continues to shape the company’s technical knowledge, practical approach and commitment to its clients.

What has remained constant is the belief that compliance should never be reduced to forms, deadlines and reports.

Behind every Workplace Skills Plan, Employment Equity Plan, B-BBEE scorecard or Learning System is a business, its people and a set of decisions that need to work in practice.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND SDF CORP

Sharné van der Merwe - Director

Sharné leads SDF Corp South Africa with a focus on building a business that is practical, responsive and ready for the changing compliance environment. Having grown alongside the industry, she brings a strong understanding of the people and operational side of compliance. As Director, Sharné oversees the direction and day-to-day management of SDF Corp South Africa, ensuring that clients receive consistent, professional support. Her focus is on taking SDF Corp forward - strengthening its systems, developing its services and ensuring that the business continues to evolve with the needs of its clients. For Sharné, good compliance support is not about making things more complicated. It is about understanding what needs to happen next and making sure it gets done.

Amanda van der Merwe - Industry Specialist

Amanda brings more than 25 years of industry experience across Skills Development, Employment Equity and B-BBEE, working directly with South African employers to navigate changing legislation and turn compliance requirements into practical workplace solutions. Her strength lies in understanding how the different areas of compliance connect in practice. She works closely with clients to understand their current position, identify risks and opportunities, solve complex compliance challenges and determine practical ways forward. Amanda's role within SDF Corp includes strategic client support, technical guidance, mentoring and the continued development of the company's methodologies, systems and service offering. Her approach is grounded in a principle that has shaped her work throughout her career: Information is free; it is what you do with it that matters.
